OLYMPIA WORLD MAS WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIP
This year’s Olympia World MAS Wrestling Championships is brought to you by MAS Wrestling USA. This is the official governing organization for mas-wrestling in North America, working in partnership with the International Mas-Wrestling Federation and the United World MAS-Wrestling Alliance.
MAS Wrestling is the National Sport of Yakutia and was derived from a traditional stick pulling game. This ancient sport has roots with the Vikings of Scandinavia, the Eskimos, the Highland Games and more. It is a non-contact combat sport that tests strength, agility, and skill. Looks like "Tug-o-War" with opponents pulling on a stick while sharing a wooden board between their feet. Although this is a physical sport, the best athletes are those who are cerebral in their approach, surgically countering an opponent’s move to get the win.
Divisions:
Men: 80 KG, 95 KG, 110 KG, Open Class, Age Over 40 (Lightweight & Open Weights)
Women: Under 70 KG, Over 70 KG
